Difference between a fake USB cord and a genuine USB cord :both andriod and apple users

Hello TNC fans, today am going to show you just how to differentiate between a fake USB cord and  an original USB cord.if you have been buying USB cord and those marketers have been cheating you, well after reading this article, you wont get cheated again.

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is considered a very simple and flexible way of connection between personal computer and other electronic devices. However,USB can malfunction if you are not using
the quality type. There will always be partial contact when using fake USB, thereby delaying your job which is very annoying.

At first, when you look a USB cord,no much difference lies in the body, but in order to identify the fake from the genuine, you are need to look at the bus/contact.

In the diagram below, the original one is on the right and the fake one is on the left.

How do you know the difference?

check the two holes that reveals the bus/contact. If the conductor there is Golden color, it means its copper which is original. Copper has high conductivity than aluminum, copper also has relatively high tensile strength (the greatest stress a substance can bear without tearing apart).

if its silver color, it means its aluminum, which is fake. Although aluminum has only about 60 percent of the conductivity of copper, but the tensile strength is very low( which tears apart when subjected to stress) Which makes your USB to to fluctuate. If you are using this type of USB, you will be experiencing partial contact. Most universal modems in Nigeria market today are made with this aluminum contact, because aluminum is cheaper than copper, and the manufacturers/ importers make more money from such.
For Apple products
At first glance, a fake and genuine Lightning cable look almost identical, but the differences lie in the details. Up close, there are several key differences between the fake and genuine Lightning connector that tells you right off the bat which one is the real, genuine cable and which one is fake.

The clearest difference is that the genuine Lightning cable on the right has the white piece perfectly rounded in the corners, while the fake one on the left is squared off somewhat. Furthermore, the entire metal piece of the genuine connector is one single metal piece, while the knockoff is made out of several metal pieces pressed together. The fake version is also slightly longer than the genuine version.

So, just by looking at both ends of the cable, you can clearly deduce which cable is the genuine one and which one is the knockoff. However, this one seals the deal. Every Apple Lightning cable comes with a serial number and text that reads, “Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in China.” Obviously, to make sure that fakes are as accurate as possible, they also include that same text and a serial number.

However, as you can see from the photo above, the style and shade of the text are vastly different. The genuine cable is on the bottom and the fake cable is on the top. If you know the font that Apple uses on all of its products, then you can tell that the bottom one is the genuine cable. The top one sports a different font that Apple doesn’t use, as well as a darker shade of gray.
So, the next time you go out and buy a cable, look for these signs to make sure you’re buying a real, genuine Apple Lightning cable. Of course, going straight to an Apple Store or ordering one on Apple’s website will guarantee that you get a real Lightning cable, but if you’re wanting to save a little cash, you’ll definitely want to be cautious when you go out hunting for deals.
