UNHYGENIC MEAT PROCESSING IN IMO STATE

It is becoming very imperative that IMO state government should urgently look into the business of foods and meats processing in the state because of its inherent effects on the human health. The process in which the production and the availability of meats, which every person in the state consumes is grossly below the standard of handling such important vital protein substance that is essentially needed in the body.

In IMO state, the process which comprises the transportation and the slaughtering are nothing to write home about, and it needed that the attention of all stakeholders should be drawn to this effect in order to correct the abnormalities in the process especially, at all the slaughter slabs in the state which are no longer modern and are also dilapidated.

It is pertinent that none of these processes are well taken care of. If one should begin it from the transportation of the consumable domestic animals like the cows, sheep, rams, goats, pigs, chickens and many others. The carrying of these consumable protein items on bare human body after being slaughtered which is another means of transportation from place to place is generally unacceptable to the required world standard of neatness in the handling of such vital substance needed by mankind. And the idea of using rickety vehicles like open trucks, the tricycle, motorcycle, even rusted cars to carry the meats to the market places are also unhygienic acts that should be totally condemned by the health personnel and government because the meats need to be carried honorably since it is for human consumption.

The reason that this meat is prone to the attraction of flies, that’s when it is not well covered,by so doing, it has been exposed to be contaminated, at the same time devastating to the human health. Little wonder why there are various types of sicknesses in  the state today, which are hardly cured because of the level of infections from what people eats as foods, meats, and drinks.

To be very frank, what that is been observed in all the slaughter slabs in IMO state showed that the state is behind civilization and very dirty, if the authorities in charge of this all important section would allow it to deteriorate in such a porous manners and it continue to exist means that something is wrong somewhere.

However, the stakeholders should endeavor to put the process in order especially now that there is epidemic generation into all manner of sickness in the world as a result of the wide spread insects. IMO state have overgrown the stage whereby cows, sheep,goats and pigs should be slaughtered on a bear mud and at the same time the use of tyres to burn them after slaughter which is very cancerous.

Because if this process is well organized, it will contribute to raise development fund for the state. IMO state butchers is believed to slaughter close to 5000 cows in a day and more than 3000 sheep and goats respectively, which enough to maintain the abattoir business outside the chickens and the pig numbers yet ascertained that are been also slaughtered.
