HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ACADEMIC GIANT PART 1.

Actually been an academic giant is not like a matchstick that you  scratch over its paper and boom!! It lights up.been an academic giant entails more than that .it is like a step that you are just walking on,a slow and steady process which takes lots of mastery and skill, its just like attaining perfection,but surely you know that attaining perfection ain't that easy.

Its also like a chest game that you relax,think,work your way through your opponent’s defense, beat him and slaughter the king.

Academics is not like many students think it is, some students don’t want to be good at their academics because they have this mentality that those who read too much  have a high risk of running mad or that they live an awkward life.

Let me illustrate this for a better understanding. Imagine in a class like 50 students and there  is an extremely brilliant student in that class, more than 50 percent of the class  would think that he is the”all book type”, like he always reads all time, no social life, not fun to be with,that he lives in the world of book.well, that’s totally wrong.

Come to think of it, all the great leaders around world, if you were given the chance to interview them,one by one, ask them if they had ever read a book?, they would all say yes, otherwise how would they have known how to communicate with languages. Most of them are what they are today not because they did all their home works and passed their exams,something motivated them,they might have read inspirational books,even some got their lives changed by reading the bible.

Reading books opens your eye to a whole new world out there that your senses are so blind to detect.

Well,think about this, why do you think the world developed so fast?the world developed as a result of written down information from the time of Einsteins up till now.they experimented,wrote down their findings,some scientist picked up their findings,read it, performed his own experiments, and modify it if there be any reason to.that is how the world developed,stage by stage and time after time.

In universities today, some students see reading as a heavy burden, a burden that you need to burn out in one night and demolish it in your exams the next day,well,that sounds to me more like crap. Because even if you pass the exams, trust me those books never added one value to your life.

Been an academic giant entails passing exams,but passing exams and getting good grades whatever way you did it doesn’t actually make you one.because if it is all about passing exams,you will be like most Nigerian graduates that carries the paper and hops from one office to another looking for a white collar job and if you keep searching and still don’t find, like the saying the goes an” idle man is the devil’s workshop”, but I pray it doesn’t be your portion.

Been an academic giant entails creativity,it entails bringing ideas into reality.its more like been a genius.its a step by step process that entails developing yourself,doing it with passion and zeal,trusting yourself,it takes time but trust me with time it will finally pay.

Most intellectual giants don’t sit around and wait for opportunities to come,they create opportunities  and even give to those who wait around for an opportunity.

So the big question is: do you want to be an academic giant or do you want be like an everyone who goes to school,graduate and start looking for a job?.
